Cover Design

A book is judged by its cover. Walk into any bookstore and look around. Some books grab your attention, others don't.
The cover for your book is a crucial component to the success of your book.
The cover should engage a potential reader and result in them at least picking it up for a closer look.

You are most welcome to ask your friends or family to design one for you, or perhaps you're a fine artist yourself!

Please note:

• • The image needs to be high resolution (300dpi minimum) in jpg format.
• • Designed according to the book size we've agreed upon.
• • The spine is determined according to how many pages are in the book (once the Design and Layout of Interior is done).
• • The full cover design has to include front, spine and back, along with a "bleed" area, for trimming.
• • We will need to know what fonts you used (copyright free, or purchased copyright), so that we can match this for the interior title page and possible headers and chapter headings.

Note that this will usually be making use of readily available copyright-free images, but can also be images you provide, or photographs of my own. Any images you provide must be copyright-free or you must have purchased a right to use it. The name of the photographer or artist will appear on the copyrights page.
Note that we will always work with you to bring about a cover design that looks good, and that you're happy with.

The base cost of the cover design is $400.
The cost may go up a little, if we need to use a copyrighted image, or have to purchase a copyrighted font. This will always be discussed with you before going ahead.
